77 and still famous
Irena Santor just received a Gold Record for her album 'Kręci mnie ten świat'. The interesting thing is that Mrs Santor is currently 77 years old, would you believe that.
To help the singer celebrate her award, a special concert was organised, during which Santor sang her oldest hits and also new songs. One of the invited guests was Jolanta Kwaśniewska, the wife of ex-President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who commented during the show: - When I listen to Irena Santor, I feel butterflies in my stomach - a worthy complement.
- She's a great artist, has a wonderful voice, she's a tremendous woman, always full of energy - the First Lady added.
And Santor herself said:
- It's very nice to get a Gold Record, especially at my age. Nowadays everything is for the young ones, it's their records that sell in really big numbers. So that makes this award even more special. That 'Kręci mnie ten świat' got a Gold Record means that people appreciated the ones who wrote and composed the music. I could only do as much, sing.
